Alive, Well, and Standing on the Solid Rock

Dear Courteous Reader,

I apologize for having disappeared so abruptly from the Baptist Blogging world several weeks ago. I deeply appreciate those of you who have contacted me with an encouraging word, and who have prayed for my family and me.

In early November, I resigned from my place of ministry, and have been faced with the task of moving my large family and our large collection of stuff out of the parsonage where we lived. Blogging went WAY down on my list of priorities.

We have now successfully moved out in good order, and are gypsy-ing around among the homes of friends and relatives. The Lord has blessed me with opportunities to preach, especially at FBC of Leonard, TX, where the pastor and other members have made us feel very welcome. Fellow bloggers Wes Kenney, Ben Cole, C.B. Scott, and Wade Burleson have actively helped me, and I appreciate that very much. I am seeking another place of service, and waiting on the Lord to show me where to go.

Because of the controversy within the church that lead to my resignation, I have decided not to recount what happened just yet, at least until the dust settles.

For now, my wife Susan, my children, and I are enjoying a very blessed Christmas season. God is showing us every day that He is taking care of everything.

Merry Christmas to you all!

Love in Christ,

Jeff

Jeff,

I'm so sorry to hear this. Give me a call sometime.

Good to hear from you, Jeff. If circumstances bring you Alabama way in the process, do be sure to let me know in advance.

Brother Jeff,

Good to hear that you are ok. I am praying for you. I just came through a tumultous time in my past ministry. I pray God's blessings on you and your family. If you are coming to NC let me know. Also, if CB Scott is one of your references, send me a resume and I will pass it around NC.

Blessings,
Tim

Jeff,

By "sometime" I meant "sometime soon."

Welcome back ... great Christmas picture!

Jeff,

While you certainly have more children than I do :0), we obviously share similar tastes (the names of our children and a knack for alliteration): our three kids are named Anna, Abigail, and Andrew. Please know that I will be praying for you during this time. God bless!!!

In Christ,
JLG

Jeff, I just thought you got sick of us! I appreciate you so much and you are in my prayers. If you are interested in coming to Alabama, I know some people in the state convention here that might be helpful. I'm a nobody, but I would do what I can. Email me if you like.

God bless you and your family. You've been missed.

Jeff

Blessings to you! The poeple at Leanord are sweet folks! I pastored in the small town of Baily several years ago and got to know a lot of the folks in Leanord! Bro. Chris Cowen and his folks are also a blessing. I am praying for you trusting that God will lead.

Remember Brother..they can't eat you!

Jack

Dear Friends,

Thank you VERY MUCH for the words of encouragement.

Love in Christ,

Jeff

Brother Jeff,
I'm glad to see you surface on your weblog. I figured you had been busy with the move. So glad to hear all has gone well so far. We are still praying in an Oklahoma direction.

In Christ,
Wayne Hatcher

Jeff,

I know all too well how it feels to be a pastor without a church to serve. I pray that you will continue to stand strong and trust in the Lord. It gets discouraging sometimes, but it has been a real encouragement to know that people all over the world are praying for me and taking time to encourage me. I know that the same thing is happening with you.
